To prevent osteoarthritis, intensive care of the joints is of critical importance. Damage to joints is often caused by incorrect weight bearing. It starts with a decrease in joint cartilage. In order for the joint bones not to collide with each other without protection when moving, a protective layer (cartilage matrix) exists at the head of the bone and in the glenoid cavity. This layer is only a few millimeters thick and is fed, supported, by the highly effective synovial fluid. This fluid can however only infiltrate, and be massaged into, the cartilage matrix by movement of the joints. It’s meant to ensure the cushioning and sliding ability of the joint.
This a-dynamic, fluid movement of the joint is always the best for rehabilitation and regeneration. The trampoline method also comes into play here, as it is a proven way to gently build up the joint. This is due to its long and gentle brake path when landing on the trampoline. Physiotherapist Paul Klammer from Traben – Trarbach, Germany, can confirm this following many rehabilitation trials.
The more gentle, highly elastic and slower braking the trampoline mat is during the down- and upswing, the more striking the effect on the recovery of the joint cartilage. In the Institute for Rehabilitation and Exercise Therapy in Eutin (Germany), it became clear that arthritis patients suffered noticeably less pain following half an hour of swinging on the highly elastic bellicon trampoline. Some of them were able to walk for several hours without any pain at all.
Conclusion:
By using a bellicon mini trampoline, it is relatively easy to prevent or limit arthritis when the first signs become noticeable.
