Bone protection

Osteoporosis leads to reduced bone thickness which increased the possibility of breakages. Physical activity against the earth’s gravitational force can help afflicted patients to maintain their mobility so that the risk of breakages is reduced. Local bone metabolism is stimulated and as a result more calcium is produced for the bones. This metabolic activity is disrupted by being outside of the earth’s atmosphere: when a weightless situation occurs, the human body doesn’t need hard bones, so it decalcifies them.

Research by the “ international space agency”(ISS), taking over four years, showed that even one year after return to earth, bones hadn’t regenerated. Trampolines are a clear example of the interaction between gravity and inertial force: with the jump and the resulting increase in speed, an additional accelerating force takes effect besides the earth’s gravitational force.

During a clinical osteoporosis trial with elderly people, all participating patients used their bellicon trampoline three times a day during ten minutes and abstained from taking medication or other bone strengthening supplements during the trial. The elderly felt more resilient, were more able to hold their balance and had less joint pain. Their bone density remained stable even without medication and by improving their reflexes and coordination, the probability of falling and breakages was reduced.

Conclusion:

On a highly elastic bellicon trampoline one can train by swinging against the earth’s gravitational force. This activates metabolic activity which makes the bones hard and keeps them flexible. This explains the comprehensive effect trampoline swinging has on intra-cellular life in the human body. It can therefore be used preventatively against osteoporosis.

»Swinging on a highly flexible trampoline affects our whole body. Everything is trained. Whilst descending, our muscles, sinews, ligaments and bones are slightly pressed together by the force of gravity, and then relaxed again whilst swinging upwards. So by bouncing on the trampoline, all the cells in our organism are effectively trained.

Following a study with osteoporosis patients, we were able to clearly prove that bone loss was stopped by swinging on a mini trampoline.«
