From the 27th till the 30th January 2011, one of the most important business gatherings in the fitness and wellness branch took place in Antalya, Turkey. This “Meet the Top Event 2011” was a great success for bellicon and the positive feedback encourages us on the road to “Bellicon goes fitness”.

Burning calories whilst doing nothing? A dream for anyone wishing to lose weight, but still utopia. The good news however is that he who exercises regularly also burns more calories whilst being idle. Regular exercise helps to also burn calories whilst lying on the sofa. Professor Ingo Froboese, from the German sports academy health centre in Cologne, explains that physical activity activates our metabolism for 24 hours. That leads to energy not only being consumed during exercise, but also whilst resting.

Since 2011.01.01, the bellicon team has been strengthened by the arrival of Christoph Wosnitza who will be taking care of “new business development”. Mr. Wosnitza is a businessman who studied sport and tourism management and who turned his hobbies, which were sport and fitness training, into his profession 20 years ago: “It is my aim to establish a committed and dynamic health network and to promote, together with competent partners, an integrated and health orientated exercise program on the bellicon®. We will also develop new concepts which will not only offer lasting benefits to our customers, but also be fun as well”.

According to a recent survey on behalf of the DAK health insurance company, more and more children are suffering from back problems. Already 6% of the six to eight year old children complain of intense lower-back pain, 15% of the nine to ten year olds do, 21% of the eleven to twelve year olds and an incredible 40% of the thirteen to fourteen year olds!

Philipp von Kunhardt, who was one of bellicon Germany’s two managing directors up until the end of 2009, is realizing his vision of setting up bellicon operations in the U.S. In Spring of 2010, he and his family moved to Chicago to begin servicing the largest fitness and health market in the world from this location.
