COMPARISON WITH METAL SPRUNG TRAMPOLINES

We are often asked why our equipment is so much more expensive than the usual, metal sprung, mini trampolines that can be bought for very little money on the internet or in discount stores, and for a little bit more with a brand name in specialist shops.

METAL SPRINGS AND ROPE RINGS ARE FROM TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TRAMPOLINE WORLDS

Although our mini trampolines with rope ring suspension and the conventionally sprung devices with metal springs look the same, it’s a matter of two completely different designs with very different swing comparisons and exercise formats. They are so to speak from two separate mini trampoline “worlds”.

To make the distinction from the available, conventional products clear, we should actually not call our devices “mini trampolines”. Unfortunately though, most users would then not be able to find us so we’ve stuck to the common definition.

LONG BRAKE PATH VERSUS HARD LANDING

The greatest and most important difference lies in the incredible elasticity of our trampolines. Many mini trampolines advertise their great flexibility; however only with bellicon do you reach swing amplitudes of 30 cm and more, without your feet leaving the bouncing mat.

Whilst on our trampolines you predominantly swing down into the mat, you mostly jump up from the mat on the hard, metal sprung, trampolines, after which you are quickly and abruptly stopped when landing. As however the real “work” on the trampoline is not the moment of hanging in the air, but the brake moment into the mat, the two trampoline variations differ considerably as far as their impact and effectiveness are concerned.

QUALITY »MADE IN GERMANY« VERSUS »OTHERS«

The second, very obvious difference lies in the quality of the materials used and the workmanship. Whilst practically all available mini trampolines (including those with brand names) originate from the Far East or Eastern Europe, we only focus on high quality materials from, and production in, Germany.

This is what enables the harmonic swing movement together with good, daily efficiency, practically soundless training and the longevity of our products. Our quality is of course also reflected in the longer guarantee period (guarantee terms) we offer compared to other trampolines. Our devices are therefore really worth (their) money..

TRY THE DIFFERENCE – YOU WILL BE AMAZED!

Before you decide to purchase a trampoline, try out the difference – with us or one of  our distribution partners – and you will be amazed how dissimilar exercising on mini trampolines can be, and how much fun a truly flexible trampoline is.

Further details concerning the differentiation can be found in the chart below.

Comparison between the bellicon and conventional metal sprung trampolines
bellicon trampoline                                           Metall sprung trampoline
Elasticity Higher flexibility through individually adjustable rope ring suspension and about 33 cm clearance height to the floor. The longer brake path prevents stress on the joints and back whilst training. Less flexibility through harder, metal springs and only 20 cm clearance height to the floor. Therefore relatively hard suspension, shorter brake path and higher stress impact during training.
Opinion from “The action for healthier backs”(AGR) The bellicon rope ring trampolines were awarded the AGR seal of approval for back friendly products. At present these trampolines do not fulfill the criteria for an AGR seal of approval.
Suspension design Depending on diameter, 30 to 42 individual, highly flexible rope rings. Up to 180% elongation, based on original length. Depending on manufacturer and type, 24 to 48 hard to very hard metal springs. Reduced flexibility up to 50%, based on original length.
Suspension adjustability The rope rings are available in 5 different strengths for all people between 10 and 200 kg, and interchangeable at any time. Generally only one metal spring variation available.
Suspension replacement The rope rings are easy to exchange (for example when worn out), and without the use of tools. Due to the very high tension, the metal springs can only be changed using tools.
Sound development Due to the rope ring suspension and the forgoing of a border cushion, exercising is almost soundless. Depending on the quality of the metal springs used and suspension points, sooner or later all metal sprung trampolines start making an audible noise during training.
Mat design Especially UV resistant and point flexible bouncing mat, made from the same woven polypropylene fabric used for high quality garden trampolines. Mostly simple fabric used with low tear resistance and point elasticity, as well as a shorter lifespan.
Frame design Stable, very strong metal tube. Screw thread accurately and cleanly cut. Embedded rubber ring prevents legs from loosening. Round frame made from thinner metal tubes. Screw thread of the legs imprecise and with a lot of “slackness”. During training, the legs often loosen by themselves.
Guarantee on frame an mat 3 years guarantee on metal frames and mat, 5 years guarantee on stainless steel frames. (guarantee terms) 2 years guarantee on frames and mat.
Suspension guarantee When not commercially used, 6 months, commercial use 3 months, usage guarantee on rope rings. (guarantee terms) Generally no guarantee on expendable parts like metal springs.
Production High quality materials and production »Made in Germany«. Generally production in the Far East or Eastern Europe.
