Exercise isn’t most people’s idea of relaxation, especially for those who’ve been on your feet all day. But it’s actually one of the best ways to relieve stress.
A few minutes on the bellicon® at the end of a hard day can make you feel like a new person. It increases blood flow to underused muscles, loosens overused ones and triggers the release of endorphins, your brain’s natural calming aid. By simply shifting your focus to a physical task like rebounding, tension melts away and your head soon feels clearer.
With every workout on the bellicon® you are doing your health a good service It only takes a few minutes a day and you can get back on your feet full of energy.
Stress isn’t just a burden, it can be a killer, with side effects ranging from headaches, insomnia, and weight gain to mental health and physical problems, including heart attacks, strokes and heart diseases. Because our busy lifestyles leave little time or energy for taking care of ourselves, managing stress can become stressful itself.
Fortunately, there are healthy ways to cope with stress – and exercising on a bellicon® is one of the best. Take it from the Harvard Medical School, which reports, “Regular aerobic exercise will bring remarkable changes to your body, your metabolism, your heart and your spirits. It has a unique capacity to exhilarate and relax, to provide stimulation and calm, to counter depression and dissipate stress.”
It's no secret the toll that stress can take on your body and mind. Whether it is a hard day at the office, at home, or a bad drive home from work, stress will undoubtedly rear it's head into our lives now and then.
Harvard Medical School wrote an outstanding essay on the benefits of exercise when it comes to mental and physical stress, as well as some quick and easy steps you can take to decompress right now!

'Movement is the basis of life. With the bellicon® you have tension and relaxation at the same time.'
'I have a relaxed and stress-free life again'.
'I have a demanding job in health care and a lot of stress at work. Bouncing on the bellicon gives me relaxation and makes me physically strong.
After my working day, I am glad I can jump for another fifteen minutes. The bellicon has a central place in my living room. I jump daily, although to passers-by it sometimes look crazy.
I never want to lose the bellicon again, I have been jumping for three months now and have no regrets.'
There’s something naturally soothing about rebounding on a bellicon® both physically and emotionally. Maybe it’s just that a change of pace is as good as a rest – and bouncing is delightfully different from our normal daily movements. Some think it triggers unconscious memories of being in the womb or cradle. Whatever the reason, exercising on our mini-trampoline leaves body and mind at peace.
On a biological level, the automatic contraction and relaxation of the muscles improves blood flow, boosting your body’s oxygen levels – with rejuvenating effects. Bouncing on a bellicon® also relaxes tense muscles and lubricates your joints, massaging away the day’s cares.
From the mental perspective, focusing on a physical activity soothes a busy mind. This is partly because getting on your bellicon® floods the brain with endorphins. Released during exercise, these feel-good neurotransmitters counteract the effects of stress and anxiety, leaving you feeling more peaceful and centered.
While it’s well known that the root cause of stress is emotional, managing life’s pressures can and should involve the body. Physical fitness is key to mental fitness.
When life gets stressful, exercise is often one of the first things to go. That’s because both the causes of stress (overwork, changes in your environment as well as physical or emotional trauma) and its results (depression, lack of sleep, eating disorders, unhealthy weight gain or loss) can make it very difficult to find the time or the energy to work out.
Just a few minutes bouncing on a bellicon® each day can make a big difference. Try to keep your mini trampoline out where you can see it so that you remember to grab a few moments of healthy, revitalizing exercise whenever you get the chance.
As the Mayo Clinic emphasizes (see link below), even if you have let yourself go a bit, you can still enjoy the benefits and stress-relieving rewards of a little exercise. Health bouncing on a bellicon® is the very definition of a gentle workout. Anyone can do it, regardless of fitness level.
“Even if you're downright out of shape, you can still make a little exercise go a long way toward stress management.”
For optimal relaxation and stress or even to prevent a burnout, we advise you to train as gently as possible. This way your body has to make an extra effort to maintain its balance and you can't do anything else but try to stand still. The bellicon® Plus with a diameter of 112cm and T-bar is a good choice, the T-bar is an extra 'support' if you lose your balance. Choose screw legs if your bellicon® can remain in one place, folding legs are ideal if you want to store it quickly and easily. Choose your favourite colour of elastic bungees, or a colour that suits your interior nicely.
The optimal bungee strength depends on your weight. You can use our elastic strength configurator to calculate the correct strength. When consulting the table, choose the "health bounce" to have fine, soft elastic bands fitted to your bellicon®.
Regular training on the bellicon® mini trampoline has numerous positive effects on your entire body. Bouncing on this device not only effectively strengthens the cardiovascular system and all muscles, but also activates the metabolism of each cell. The moderate movement on the bellicon® also promotes the body's self-healing functions. This in turn has positive effects on some of our societal diseases.
