I still use it almost every day; it's healthy exercise that keeps my back and neck feeling good (and makes me happy!).
Here's a tip for female jumpers: I keep a zip-front sports bra handy to put on like a vest over whatever I'm wearing so that when I want to jump for five minutes without working up a sweat I don't have to go change clothes.
I learned about the bellicon through the Hamburg Initiative‚ Healthy and Active, and I never want to be without it again. As a physician I do not have the time to exercise in a club. At the moment, cold and darkness also keep me from taking long strolls in the evenings. That is where the bellicon comes in.
While listening to my music, I am bouncing at least 3 times a week for 15 to 30 minutes. It is fun and takes little effort. It also helps my tense neck muscles. As a physician I can recommend it without restrictions.
I have had the bellicon for just over a week now but I am very happy I got it. I had to stop going to the gym because of herniated discs in my lower back and neck. I kept straining myself on the treadmill and while doing abdominal exercises which caused more pain. However, I really missed exercising and wanted to try something low impact. I'm new to rebounding but after research and reading the reviews, I thought I would like it. I got the 39" because I live in a NYC apt and splurged on the bellicon because it was the only quiet rebounder available on the market. I don't want my neighbors to know I am bouncing around in my apartment! The rebounder is quiet & a really fun workout -- so much so that I have been bouncing (with weights) and jogging daily. It feels great and I look forward to it at the end of the work day. Very happy:) The product is well designed & constructed and made of quality materials. Will let you know if I'm still bouncing a year later ;)
Being recently diagnosed with thyroid disease and multi-nodular goiter, I have been experiencing swelling and pain in my lower neck, and also under my collarbone area. The pain was getting worse, even after 6 months of daily medication and iodine. Then I just happened to be invited over by my nephews to bounce on their new outdoor trampoline. I only bounced with them about 10 minutes. The next morning I woke to find that 75% of my neck pain was gone. I immediately wondered why and this started me on my journey to learning about lymphatic drainage. This rebounder was purchased specifically for this purpose. I have only had it a few days now, but have been using it daily and would estimate my pain is now over 95% resolved. At this time, I can only attribute this to the lymphatic drainage caused by this type of exercise. I now suspect I have some sort of lymph node congestion, and plan on making rebounding a part of my daily life - which is why I spent the money and bought this brand. I hope to update this review in the future, once I have more use under my belt.
I absolutely love my new bellicon.
I had read about the benefits of rebounding and ordered a cheaper rebounder at first. While I thought it provided a really good workout, I got extreme tightness and inflammation in my neck and shoulders. The springs were also very loud and the rebounder had a toxic kind of odor that gave me a headache. I sent it back and was not sure if I should spend the money on the bellicon.
Would it be different enough to justify the price? Short answer: yes. I'm so glad I made the investment. I have had none of the neck and upper back/shoulder issues that I had with the other rebounder. The bounce is much softer and easier on your body. Plus, you can bounce higher and do more (I like the bigger surface). The workout DVD that came with it is good and I use it, but I also hop on the rebounder here and there throughout the day. I work from home and taking little rebounding breaks for a few minutes at a time helps get my blood flowing, re-energizes me, and allows me to re-focus. I also like the workout videos that bellicon emails me. I've only had my bellicon a few weeks, but I've already noticed more toning and less bloating. I've also been sleeping better. I worked out 5-6 days a week before the bellicon, but wanted more cardio that I could do quickly (without going to a gym) and indoors (as I live in hot Central Fla.) Not only is this a great cardio workout, but it's great for core strengthening/balance and toning. I keep my bellicon in my living room and love to see it there (I got the black/grey mat with black bungees and screw in legs-- it looks great). This is a top of the line rebounder! I love it.
Besides all the other health benefits that others have mentioned, the bellicon is wonderful for shaking out the tension after practicing the piano. I am a classical pianist and suffer from cronic tension in the shoulders, neck and arms. After practicing a while, I like to go and "swing" on the bellicon. It is great, releasing all the cramped up muscles. I love it!! After my foot operations are over, I am looking forward to really working out on the bellicon for weight loss and speeding up the metabolism!! Look out bellicon.....here I come!!!
Best exercise equipment investment I've made. No G-force jarring in the neck and upper back area like my other rebounder. Smooth jump. I have a spin bike, treadmill and the bellicon I can see enjoying daily because I get bored with equipment after a while. With the bellicon, I can do a simple health bounce just standing in front of the TV because it does not take a lot out if me. Some days I just don't want to be bothered with exercise because it feels like a chore but not this bellicon! I am excited to just get on it and bounce slow and easy... it feels way better than my other rebounder. I went to the showroom to test it out and my salesperson Bibi was a doll, there was no pressure to purchase; as a matter of fact I went to simply to test and purchase in the fall but loved it so much I bought it on the spot. I want to prolong my life expectancy and overall health with a simple form of exercise -- thus the bellicon was my choice!
