The courses run by pur.AG and the pur-life fitness studio have been using bellicon mini-trampolines for years. In this video, Dr. Volker Zitzmann talks about the positive effects he has observed:
“I’d like to briefly explain why we (at pur.AG) consider trampoline training to be so particularly healthy and effective, and what’s behind it: our body is made up of around 100 trillion individual cells. There are specialized skin cells, nerve cells, muscle cells, and many more. But every single one of these hundred trillion cells has its own functioning metabolism and is alive.
How can I keep all these cells of the body healthy and stimulate their metabolism?
- through healthy nutrients for the cells
- through enough water, because cells surrounded by enough water are simply healthier and function better
- through enough oxygen and movement
What happens during movement?
We usually only move individual parts or areas of the body. That’s already good, but what about the rest? Imagine a single cell on a trampoline. This cell is moved through the individual swing phases. And that’s exactly what happens on a trampoline to every single one of these hundred trillion cells in our body. Every cell is moved. The metabolism of every single cell is kept active. Perhaps this explains the many positive effects of trampoline training that we’ve been able to observe in the participants here on site.
Here’s a small excerpt of the effects most frequently described by course participants:
- Regardless of age, truly everyone we’ve put on a trampoline and let bounce a few times has spontaneously enjoyed it. A completely natural reaction (to the rocking and swinging), just as in infants and small children.
- There is an increased lipolysis, meaning increased fat burning and, as a result, a clear loss of weight. In particular, a loss of fat mass while preserving muscle mass.
- We have seen a strong reduction in waist circumference among participants, which in turn points to a reduced body fat percentage.
- We also see a reduction in water retention, meaning a strong reduction specifically in lower-leg edema, water in the feet.
- Tension and vertebral joint blockages are released.
- Joint and back complaints ease.
- A strengthening of the immune system, fewer infections and even fewer allergies.
- We observe excellent lymphatic drainage, especially in patients after breast cancer who have lymphedema in the arms, where trampoline swinging is used.
- Water retention is also relieved by the swinging.
- Balance is trained and equilibrium improves.
- We see regulating effects on the autonomic nervous system through the swinging motion, and as a result a general increase in well-being, particularly psychological well-being.”
