“I always use the bellicon® when it comes to vision-training exercises. After just a short session of gentle bouncing and swinging, a look at the eye chart already shows noticeably clearer, higher-contrast letter recognition, and in most cases, much smaller letters can be read than before.
Because of a relaxed body posture, the visual system is able to recognize and perceive things in a more natural, healthier and therefore clearer way. Contrast is stronger, colors are more vivid, and letters can be made out with far less effort. 90% of the process of seeing takes place in the brain — the eyes are only involved for about 10%.
Hand-eye coordination supports brain and visual performance
Four important eye functions need to be present, or are prerequisites, for clear vision. These include accommodation, binocularity, eye mobility in all directions and, very importantly, brain integration.
Both hemispheres of the brain and both eyes must be “switched on” and activated — otherwise “nothing happens” in our visual system. A good way to work with a client during a session is simple ball games on the bellicon® (hand-eye coordination). This way, or simply by bouncing while doing cross-body movements, working through arithmetic problems, etc., both hemispheres of the brain are activated.
Our visual system needs relaxation — stress is pure “poison” for the eyes
If the body is tense (no matter where), the eyes automatically become tense too, and that in turn shows up in the visual system. In other words, our visual system needs relaxation — stress is pure “poison” for the eyes. That’s why, at the start of a session, I like to create relaxation through simple bouncing on the bellicon®.
I keep hearing statements like:
- I feel so light, and I have the feeling everything is much brighter than before.
- I can hardly believe that such a change in my eyes could happen in such a short time.
- Training on the trampoline makes everyday life easier for me, both in terms of my vision and my physical complaints.
- I can read better again, even in the evening after an exhausting workday.
My clients generally train with me once a week at my practice and, if possible, also at home with this trampoline.”
